SLICKER TEAM LEAD DRIVER (INTERNAL PROMOTION)

Slicker Trucking is growing and we couldn’t be more excited about the growth of our team.  We are committed and focused on delivery best practices, safety & performance and each driver success.  To better manage the quality of our practices within our P&D division we are seeking a full time P&D Team Supervisor.  This individual will be assigned a territory team within Slicker Trucking and serve as an additional layer of dispatch support and first response resource to all drivers. 

TERRITORY ROUTE SUPERVISOR OUTLINE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Safe Driving Performance

  • Willingness to work 6 days when required (standard schedule will be 5 days)

  • Demonstrates Best Delivery Practices

NEW TASKS & DUTIES

  • Manage area drivers

  • Assists Safety Manager with Remediation & Training needs

  • Immediate resource and first line of contact for area drivers

  • Manages daily workload & driver progress

  • Operates under the “No Package/No Driver left behind” Mission

ROUTE DRIVER DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Perform pre & post trip inspection of vehicle (Non CDL position)

  • Operate commercial vehicle in compliance with local, state, and federal laws

  • Load and unload packages by hand.

  • Work in all weather conditions.

  • Make certain package quality is maintained until it reaches customer.

  • Follow all company policies with regards to package delivery and recordkeeping through use of custom scanner/software at warehouse site and with hand held devices.

  • Communicate/report problems or issues to guarantee customer satisfaction

  • Package control: Must report any goods that are lost, stolen or damaged while in transit.

  • Follow preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advise management of any unsafe conditions

  • Adhere to all terms of the company Vehicle & FedEx Contractor Safety Policies

  • Exceptional Timeliness and attendance are critical

ON ROUTE SUPPORT

  • Will serve as main contact for Area Drivers regarding bad addresses, delivery practices, driver questions and on-route needs.

  • Will report any area driver or territory issues to Slicker Trucking Management

  • Will meet with Slicker Trucking Management regularly to continue to improve delivery procedures, route efficiency, truck resources, and driver performance feedback.

  • On-site first responder (when possible) within territory to scene of property damage, yard incidents to manage scene & begin investigation.

DRIVECAM COACHING (May be future resource for team leads)

SAFETY & PERFORMANCE

  • Work with Safety Manager to Identify or communicate any identified or reported safety & performance issues with employees or vehicles.

  • Assist and monitor Implemented Performance Improvement Plans for area drivers

  • Work with Safety Manager to sustain remediation plans for area drivers
