P&D VACATION ROUTE DRIVER
Slicker Trucking is growing and we couldn’t be more excited about the growth and tenure of our team. We have many employees that have earned their 1-2 and even 3 weeks paid vacation. The size of our team and the number of weeks of vacation earned requires 1-2 full time vacation route drivers.
This requires a skilled and flexible driver. These candidates will become familiar with all Slicker Trucking routes and truck types. Mostly this candidate must have the positive team attitude to jump in anywhere needed and support our mission of “NO PERSON, TRUCK OR PACKAGE LEFT BEHIND.”
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF VACATION ROUTE DRIVER
Must be flexible to jump into a new route & different territory daily or weekly.
Ability to handle all routing in terminal.
Must be willing to assist non-Slicker territories if needed (Under Slicker Structure)
Approved to drive and comfortable routing all trucks in fleet, Cargo, Small Step Van, Large Step Van & Box Trucks.
First line coverage for employee vacation routes, time off or sickness.
Must be willing to jump in where needed when vacations are not scheduled. Second line coverage for bulk, volume, driver illness or disciplinary action.
Must be part of Contingency Coverage Program for out of area contractors needing assistance. First right of refusal to go out of area or stay back and cover home routing. Out of Area pay adjustments will apply.
ROUTE DRIVER DUTIES AND TASKS
Perform pre & post trip inspection of vehicle (Non CDL position)
Operate commercial vehicle in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
Load and unload packages by hand.
Work in all weather conditions.
Make certain package quality is maintained until it reaches customer.
Follow all company policies with regards to package delivery and recordkeeping through use of custom scanner/software at warehouse site and with hand held devices.
Communicate/report problems or issues to guarantee customer satisfaction
Package control: Must report any goods that are lost, stolen or damaged while in transit.
Follow preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advise management of any unsafe conditions
Adhere to all terms of the company Vehicle & FedEx Contractor Safety Policies

COMPENSATION
Adjusted pay rate / salary will be offered to qualified candidates to accommodate route variances.
Additional week of paid vacation will be earned after 1 year running vacation route
